Make a BIG Difference in Your Health in ONE Month: Finish 2018 Strong!

We might not have any idea how this happened, but y’all, its almost the last month of the year.

2018 is almost done, and I want to ask you a really tough question:

Did you keep all the promises you made to yourself this year?

Me neither. It’s really ok. I promise. I’m right there with you.

But here’s the thing: YOU DON’T HAVE TO GIVE UP YET. You still have 30 days to make a big difference in any and every area of your life.

I wrote about how I spent 30 days working on forming habits that would help me grow into the person I most wanted to be. You can read about how my 30 days went here and here.

In just 30 days, I went from someone who could hardly get out of bed before 8 AM to a 6 AM person.

In just 30 days, I went from someone who said she wanted to be writer but never wrote more than a page a week to someone who writes for an hour a day on multiple book projects.

In just 30 days, I went from someone who was constantly bloated and had difficult digestion to someone who feels lean and confident 90% of the time.

In just 30 days, I went from someone who hated her body to someone who quite often looks at herself in the mirror and smiles and poses and smiles even more. Because daaaaamn, I’m fiiiiine. ;)

30 days made a HUGE difference in every aspect of my life.

All I had to do was work hard for 30 days. I didn’t have to be perfect for 30 days. I just had to try hard for 30 days…

I had “tried” in the past (multiple times…) to commit to the 4 week challenges, or 12 week challenges, or 6 month long challenges. Most of those longer challenges absolutely overwhelmed me after about 4 days…and whenever I would quit one longer challenge, I would be completely incapable of even finishing a 7-day challenge. Any length of challenge became impossible because I was incapable of keeping promises to myself.

It became so impossible to motivate myself to stick with it because if a day didn’t go so well, I would give it all up completely. I was like a little kid who, when one block didn’t fit quite right on the lego model would smash the whole dang thing down.

But for this 30 days, when I wanted to establish those good habits, I gave myself the simple grace of trying again the next hour or day if something was screwed up. I would have a bad day for every couple of good days, but I would let myself try again whenever I was able to do so. I didn’t let a bad morning obliterate my 30 day commitment. I didn’t let the spilled coffee or the negative comment or the bad run or the evening stomach ache throw me off the track completely. I simply allowed it slow me down for that moment until I could build up my momentum again.

But even though I wasn’t 100% on the ball for the entire 30 days, I still found incredible success in my commitment to healthy habits in only 30 days.

I’m willing to bet that you set a goal (or at least dreamed a dream or wished a wish) for better health and wellness this year.

And I’m willing to bet that when you fell off the wagon in January or February you threw your hands up in exasperation and said “screw it.” I’ve been there. I get that.

But now, coming to the end of the year, I bet you’re kicking yourself for not pushing through because you can only imagine where you’d be now if you would have just stuck with it then…

Put down your boxing gloves, darling. You don’t have to beat yourself up about it…

Because there is STILL TIME.
